Cattleyas are usually pretty forgiving right out of the flask. The actual deflaking is a breeze, pretty fun really. It's sustaining them outside of the flask that is a little tricky. They need time to get used to the cruel world. Slowly acclimate them to real-world conditions by tenting them in a propagation tray with a lid (or a tupperware with cling wrap, or a deli container, or just be creative). Slowly increase air circulation by venting a little more each week. It's a lot easier to rot them to a mush, than it is to dry them to a crisp. So, keep any media on the drier side, and avoid heavy
misting. Really high humidity will keep them happy.
