i am building a greenhouse!

I wanted to get to the HOTOS show too, but it's a long haul for me - about four and a half hours. I'm definitely going to the AOS spring show in Houston this April, even if only for a day. Maybe I'll see some of you there.

That is so completely unfair! Do you have any idea how lucky you are kid? I've been gardening since before I could walk and begging for a greenhouse for almost as long! My parents just started talking about getting a GH or sunroom a couple years ago. You know how far they've gotten? A couple brochures!!!! They'll probably get a greenhouse AND a sunroom right before or right after I move out!!

Sorry, just venting my frustration. Very nice greenhouse there. I'll expect you to post pictures of the amazing orchids you grow in there, ya hear? As for me, I'll just keep visiting the greenhouses on campus and drool over their plants.

It's heated as part of the house central heating. They builders are putting it up as I write, so you'll get photos once it's done. The door will be open most of the time anyway, and one I get a few fragarant orchids... well...http://www.orchidboard.com/community...lies/dance.gif

I know how excited it is to build a greenhouse, I built a lean to on the side of my shed, It is 10' x 12' and gets plenty of sun , I limited my self to 75 plants when I was building it so I would have plenty of time for each, Now I am up to 92 plants and still searching for new ones , I have to get rid of the plants that I have divided and make room for more.

Hey Royal, let me know when you go! My girlfriend who loves to go with me to orchid shows is unavailable and I would never force my spouse to come unless he wanted to (he did build me a greenhouse, so I am extremely grateful!). Maybe we can plan to exchange some more plants as well as browsing the show/sale!!

Hang in there, Evan. I have been growing orchids (& killing them) since 1992 and the greenhouse has been a more recent addition to my addiction...er..hobby (did I say that outloud?!?)! If you want one, make your plans!!

I love the lean-to. Some excellent bloomers in there! Thanks for sharing your pictures.

What a beautiful greenhouse! It looks like your plants are really happy in there! I can't wait to get mine into the conservatory! As soon as its done I'll post some pictures!
