Default As Seen On David Letterman

I know this probably should be posted on the disease and illness forum but I am hoping to get more response....so will it float or not???!!! Suddenly today I noticed these two light-colored spots on a phal leave. There are no trails of "sticky stuff" to indicate snails, no actual evidence of a chewing cridder...but the circle with the bull's eye is bothersome to me as it may indicate some other insect or bacterial something. I try to keep a clean house (GH) and use RD-20 on a regular basis...so should I be concerned or it's nothing and I'm over-reacting? Comments, please

I don't know, Doc. I don't think I would worry about it, but just keep a watchful eye. It just looks like a typical blemish. But, only growing orchids for a couple years...take my advice with a grain of salt.

I also see a darker green ring around the yellow ring. This does look bacterial to me. Why not try a shot of Thiomyl just in case (that's a systemic).?

That could be a sure sign of thrips . the dot is where it has pierced the leaf and the yellow part is where it has sucked out the chlorophyll. Some times mosquitoes will also feed on plants

Only females (bless their little hearts ) Males (much larger) suck plant juices. That is a definite maybe cause.
