Some may feel these should be in the pictorial section. While I am sharing the pictures with all, I have a question about peloric flowers. The definition I have of a peloric is, "An abnormal formation in which the petals resemble the lip in some fashion." So are these flowers considered peloric? Has the meaning of the word "peloric" bcome so broad as to include any anomaly of the flower? And should they flower the same way in subsequent years? Is this "abnormality" a clonal variation, mutation of genetic material or ?????
Consider this your scientific quiz for the day...and no cheating. This is NOT an open book quiz!
Peloric flowers would have petals that actually look like a lip structure. I guess you could call yours semi-peloric, as they are 'tending' to take on that appearance. I generally have seen these types like yours called cockle shell
