Too hot here in FL in the summer to leave the plant in the sun as it will eventually fry. Need to use an indirect light area where it won't get burned.

I would follow Roberta's recommendation then and go with dappled sunlight. Judging by the new bulb you had, it was doing just fine with whatever you were doing.
