Maybe this will be helpful (at least you know how much you need to wait

If I used Orchiwiz correctly, under that information what you have is a Rhyncholaeliocattleya. It is composed of a lot of different hybrids so it might be somewhat difficult to know when to expect new roots. Probably during the summer...
It has tenebrosa, downiana and warscewiczii in its genetics.

Correct. It's half C. dowiana, and the balance a bunch of different species (from multiple generations of hybrids) so it's behavior is quite unpredictable. Just observe... wait for those new little root nubs, whether they show up sooner, or show up later.

Hi all. Thanks for the great discussion, links, and pdf. I'm a nuts-and-bolts kind of person (some say mostly nuts &#128562 and I enjoy and appreciate getting into the details of things. I am amazed at the research that has been done to catalog and understand the genealogy and characteristic percentages of all these hybrids.

I looked at OrchidWhiz, but currently don't have the budget for it, and I'm not breeding/cloning either. I did find OrchidRoots interesting and informative and will poke around and see what's useful.

Thanks again for sharing your time, knowledge, and experience, they are genuinely appreciated. My boundaries have been enlarged. 🌼😊

A little tidbit from Fred Clarke (Sunset Valley Orchids) - He suggests that when you repot (when you see the new roots emerge) the date that you should write on the tag is a date 3-4 weeks BEFORE that date when you repotted. Then, the next time it is due for a repot, you will have a repot time that anticipates the new roots, which is an even better time to repot. (The ideal time is just before the new roots emerge, so next time, you will know when that is.)
