Suggestions for books on different genera

Could I get some suggestions for books about specific orchid genera? For instance, Arthur Holst's "World of Catasetums" is a great resource on Catasetums.

I have never bought an orchid book. The ones I found in the library in the 1990's were most unhelpful (greenhouse, Osmunda or treefern fiber....). I found that asking the vendor how to grow the orchid was a great way to learn about them and I use many of those growing tips even to this day. Now, I can find most of the information online or ask at an orchid society meeting....

I dont have any good recs for books, but I highly recommend joining the AOS and browsing their online archive of articles. The archive goes back almost 100 years and contains every article ever published in ORCHIDS magazine (was orchid digest). I read it constantly!

Parsons and Gerritsen Compendium of Miniature Orchid Species 2nd edition
The orchids are miniature, the books aren't! 4 volumes.

Firstly, the original question is too open ended (there are 30-35,000 species to write about). Some compendiums mention 1-2,000 different plants, but the information on each is very brief.

Secondly, what information are you looking for? Some books deal more with taxonomy & relationships, but barely touch on cultural requirements.

Lastly, have you considered 'Orchids for Dummies'? I never opened it, but I know the editor and trust his judgment.

For more relevant information, you need a book on at most one genus, or perhaps only a sub-section. However, so many people rely on the internet for information, that there there are few new books coming out. The Vanda book by Martin Motes is a good one for that genus.

I think what you want is not abundant, at least in my researches it's not common to fing books dedicatwd to a single genre. The best option is to read as much articles/vids about what you want to research.
By other hand, it's relatively easy to find books about orchids in from a specific geographic zone.
