This is what mine looked like last flowering (3 months ago) with the Kingianum inside. Not a lot of protection from elements.
Although I guess it's different when they're a dime a dozen here and easily acquired. I just put two mother flasks of them on so soon I'll have a metric crape tonne of them haha

When it gets big enough to divide, get a division off it and stick it in a tree fork and see how it goes, that way you're not risking losing your main plant.

I keep mine mostly outside in our winters. Our winter days are a little warmer than yours and nights similar. I bring them in on nights when we might go below freezing. Don't have any speciosum large enough to flower but hoping a kingianum hybrid flowers this spring.

Thanks. That's impressive to handle those winter temps, and not just barely. Reflects my Interm.-Warm bias in orchid keeping.
