Default seaweed extracts and orchids

Anyone has experience with seaweed derivatives as additive/hormone/vitamins/minerals? Am not suggesting a specific product bcse there is a myriad of trademarks different from one country to another. Seems that there is one common hormone called giberylline. Seems also that it is mostly used on foliage. Could it be safe to use on epiphytic roots? As main fertilizer?
