Wow! I'm impressed! That is one heck of a root system! I never thought about that technique, but it does seem perfectly logical. I think that next time I have an orchid in need of saving, I'll try it instead of the classic sphag n bag which never seems to work for me anyways.

Paul, I did the same thing to a Miltonidium. Got same result. Good job. Glad you tried that out.

This technique won't work with genera that do not have storage portions (pseudobulbs). That would be Phals, Paphs, Phrags, etc. Any orchid with nice fat pseudobulbs should respond this way. Just my opinion.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I wish I had know about this method earlier, since the 2 orchids I've killed in sphag and bag were both onc hybrids. It would have been worth a try!
