I usually run my transplants a lil dry till the roots go into the medium

It's in an aquarium w/ moistened LECA on the bottom for humidity.
I have some Sophronitis seedlings in the same tank,same treatment, same mix, but finer in the top half of the pot and they're killin it...but they are in clay,too.I suspect there is no shortage of wicking from the LECA to the clay while there is little to none in the plastic? Just thinkin out loud...
