If A and B it doesn't stand to reason that A caused B or B caused A because it could be that C causes both A and B.
Was your plant shipped, or did you pick it out. You'll probably guess that I'm thinking overheating in the sun during shipment might cause both redness and sulking.
Many of the strap leaved Vandas will grow like weeds given very intense lighting, as in nearly full sun. But they will develop some red or burn if you increase the light level suddenly.
I've never grown a terete-leaf vanda, but I believe they like even more intense light.
