well, those are all ok teams , but the wolverines have the winningest history in all of college football, and are one of the oldest organized teams in the us...

Actually, the (Ohio) buckeye is Aesculus glabra, which has poisonous seeds, and also has leaves and twigs that stink when crushed, so it's a perfect mascot for Ohio State. You're welcome.

The American chestnut has seeds that are edible.
