Crime? No. Only because then it is between the government and the offender.
We need to handle this one with some orchid street justice !!

I really don't think that is the point whether it is a dendrobium or a cattleya considering either will end up in the bin. It could be either. Made me laugh though

There are plenty of orchids that will grow well on a single cork, as wisdomseeker demonstrated. Same with Tillandsias. In a typical kitchen on a refrigerator, perhaps not so many. Not very many Cattleyas unless you include Sophronitis.

An excellent grower in our society pots Tolumnias like this: She forces four corks vertically into a rectangular pot just big enough to hold them in one layer, with substantial compression - there should be no movement at all. She sets the bare-root Tolumnia into the central gap. No other medium. I don't have a photo. I'm doing this next time I get a Tolumnia (soon.)

Nice. But under our watchful eyes ----- it can be seen that those particular corks aren't even discoloured in any way. They look like brand new. If the orchids were grown for a fair bit of time ----- we expect that the cork would be discoloured.
Also - the white tile floor ----- I expect that regular watering would probably mean water getting onto the floor.
