The wait time for a ruined finish can be shortened considerably using a common all natural remedy - a pumice stone.

I learned from Rebecca Northern Home Orchid Growing, 3rd edition (1970). I had one hell of a time finding a source for Osmunda fiber even back then. Osmunda was a good potting material to work with, but cost was $$$$.

Not entirely sure what you mean by that. I think a bit of elbow grease is the way to go. So yeah i use a blunt knife and a scraper.

Once a the finish on the toilet is ruined its life span is considerably shortened if that is what you meant.

Not that I was expecting to be discussing toilet maintenance when I came to check out what was new on the forum tonight lol.

The surface of a toilet is a glaze, that is, glass. Glass is not affected by HCl, which is why it is stored in glass bottles.

HCl works by dissociating into H+ and Cl-. The bleach “tablets” you put in the toilet tank do the same thing, and they don’t ruin the surface.
