The end for Aerangis Rhodosticta?

This lady rotted in the tank, something to do or should I send it to heaven?

While I often take the position that if there is green there is hope, more recently I'm getting hard-hearted. Is it wonderful enough to continue to take up space while you try to revive it? I would be more inclined to euthanize it. Either give the rest of the plants a little more room, or treat yourself to something new.

Give up. I regret saying that since I've held on to plants for many yrs.(sentimentally). My failure only contributes to growing the same plant smarter and successfully so try again.

And I'll look for a nice and healthy substitute. To tell you the true, I was for those same comments, so I could get a new one without feeling remorse!

BTW... Don't understand the title where it come from, I mean to write "aerangis rhodosticta", the automatic spelling need urgently to be turn off.

Fixed the title. I was rather puzzled too... but it looked pretty dead no matter what the name.

Moss is a poor choice. According to Alan Koch of Gold Country Orchids: Mount, or use extra large bark. Let it dry completely between waterings. Try to find a pot/bark combination that permits daily watering.

That is the end for that one. Once the heart goes mush there is no hope left. Sometimes a phalaenopsis can still produce a keiki when it loses it's heart but on such a small aerangis that's had it.
They are such slow growers I'm starting to wonder if their space would be better suited for something faster growing but at least you are in a postion to pick something to replace it with now. For similar growing conditions I can recommend a cyrtorchis arcuata which is more hardy or a dendrobium moniliforme which is very forgiving.

Ohh you see ES, same thing told me an other member in my tank thread and I was so confused cuz I got as mini-mini speciality for terrarium, nothing can go from wet to dry in the tank the vendor insisted in mustly humid and mid range light. Before I buy anything I try to investigate as much possible but I failed the interpretation...oh well!

Not for replacement for fact, I want to grow the collection in the tank, little by little. I feel bad for the losse but open the opportunity to get something new and I like a lot the cyrtorchis, and I am considering *Haraella odorata (retrocalla)" and another Aerangis.

Consider Angraecum distichum. A really cute plant (even when not in bloom), once it gets going it can bloom multiple times a year, flowers are about 0.5 to 0.75 cm. http://orchidcentral.org/Images/Angr...tichum%202.jpg
