Bifrenaria vitellina/ aerofulva not growing
Default Bifrenaria vitellina/ aerofulva not growing

So the info first:
I got this orchid in April 2019.
It was tagged as Stenocoryne vitellina, but judging from the flowers it`s most likely Bif. aerofulva. It seems there`s a bit of confusion between the two on the internet, but I can tell the flowers are different.
It already had a pbulb that was being developed back when I got it. Once that was done, then it proceeded to produce flowers and bloom... like 7 times. It makes 3-5 to 7 flowers each time. You can tell from all the old spikes. It bloomed all throughout summer up until autumn last year, and this year two times in spring and once now in winter.

The problem and the question:
The problem is that it hasn`t done much in terms of growing. I`m sure it grew roots as I found some new ones poking out from the bottom drainage hole, but no new pbulbs except the one from right after I got it. I`d prefer it grew and developed more rather than flower.

It`s potted in pure bark chips. It received the same treatment as all my other orchids in terms of watering and fertilizing - meaning nothing out of the ordinary. I only repotted it right after I got it and it`s been in the same pot since then. It has also been in the same place since then too. It`s sitting next to my cattleya, so in my climate it gets the brightest light I can give it during summer (direct sun in morning and then bright shade - sun gets too high or its too cloudy) and full sun all around the day from december until february. Humidity is above 60% all year round. Temperatures are around 10-18C in winter and up to 35C in summer

So does anyone have any idea about what I should do to make it grow another pbulb? I was thinking that maybe I should repot it this spring and add some sphag moss to the mix - maybe the medium it`s in now gets too dry too fast? And also I was thinking of moving it in lower light. Maybe that will do the trick. What do you guys think?

In the spring, I would suggest potting into a mix that holds more moisture (smaller bark, or add some sphagnum) My experience with these is that they are rather slow growers. But mine has been doing better since I have been keeping it damper. I also grow it fairly shady - it lives with some Maxillarias and Pleurothallids. As far as the name goes, it used to be Stenocoryne aureofulva, got reclassified as Bifrenaria. Same thing... So the name is not incorrect, tags don't update when things get reclassified. Now, that would be a nice bit of magic...

Thank you for your reply! I will definitely give your suggestion a go and see what happens.
Slow growers, yeah, but it`s been almost two years since it has done anything. Hopefully it will pick up once I make the changes.
In regards to the id, yes it would be great if they`d autocorrect! I know stenocorynes are bifrenarias now, but I was referring to how it seems to be bif. aerofulva not bif vitellina. Orchidspecies gives bif. harrisonae as a synonym for vitellina. Their flowers seem to be a bit more rounded, not as sharp as aerofulva.
It seems like mislabeling is a regional thing. Again and again I`ve seen the same orchids being mislabeled in the same way by completely different nurseries. I guess it depends on where they get their orchids and info from.

Honestly, I have had several orchids not do anything for a year and then burst into growth. I had a Brassia caudata that sat around and did nothing for 8 months. I also have had dendrobiums do this to me - for heinous periods of time. And a Rossioglossum and Lycaste. You just have to wait it out sometimes.
