Mystery Orchid ID
Help me solve this mystery
I purchased a Den Kingianum (mounted) from Andy's about a 1.5 years ago. It has become quite the specimen and has developed thick moss all over it's mount. About 4 months ago I noticed a "Weed" growing out of the moss and when I pulled it I noted the roots were orchid roots. I potted it in a mesh pot and it has doubled in size in 4 months. It grew a second "cane". Any guesses what this could be?
The last pic is the puppy I'm getting in three weeks. No relation to this post, just think everyone needs to see this cuteness.

Looks like a reedstem epidendrum of some kind, which also makes sense as there is a tiny amount of endosperm in the seeds of some reedstem epidendrums, which allows the seeds to germinate more easily without the symbiotic fungi.

I agree with Afid on this one, could be a reedstem volunteer. I occasionally have a reed-stem Epi pop up in a pot or basket. In fact, I have one in bloom right now. Though the leaves on yours look pretty broad for an Epi, so it could be something else too. (It almost looks like the part toward the camera has a pseudobulb... it so, it's not a reed-stem Epi) Andy's growing areas are crowded enough that occasionally something will get pollinated and sprout in another plant. A bonus at any rate.
The puppy is totally adorable!

You might just need to wait to see what it is when it blooms.
Your future family member is really cute!

I haven't! I've been trying to find a masculine name from the orchid world but no luck. 2.5 weeks to think of one before he arrives He will be joining my labradoodle named Muppet

Thanks everyone for your input. FFW Andy also said reed stem epi. It does look significantly different that the reed stem epi I have (Lakeview Angel). I'm excited to see what becomes of it.
Just got two new puppy pics this morning...
