Depends on the tune! The banjo is tuned to the key of the song you are playing, or you can use capos. I have 4 banjos, one in G, C, D, and F

One of my neighbors when I was a kid was an elderly lady with a parakeet named Banjo Eyes. He was self-tuning and had a most remarkable repertoire.

My first impression was an 'epi' of some sort, or maybe one of those thin crosses in the cattleya group.

As for the pooch, he looks 'Frosty' to me, or maybe Einstein, Edgar, Leonardo?
