Default Phrag Question/Advice

I have had this Phrag for about 2 years. Last year no flower...then in the fall of last year one of the 3 shoots died. At the time I thought it was my negligence and the thing just rotted out! I didn't know, like with paphs the older growth will die back after flowering. So now this is my plant. You can see the remnants of the dead growth in front of the green older growth It appears that at the base of the older gowth there are 2 new growths and a flower spike growing up from the older plants. Is this how it goes with Phrags? So I did something right!!!!????

the idea of how phrags grow is pretty much the same as paphs. each fan blooms once and then once itz done, the bloomed fans will stay there until they get old and die off.

but i gotta say, u have lots of new growth coming, haha. definitely dun forget to post some pics when they are bloomed ^^ i cant wait until my first phrag gets going with its growth

Yep, thats not uncommon at all for phrags. Looks like you are growing this one very well. You'll be posting pics in no time.

Great growing, you are most obviously doing something far more superior than right!

Gang, your guess is as good as mine....don't know exactly what it is...but thankful that it is, because I thought I'd bumped off another orchid. I seem to do that quite regularly I'm sure it has to do with the usual basics that all of us know....thanks for the great comments

There are a lot of phrags here in the mountains. I'd say what you've experienced is much like what happens in the wild. Your plant is obviously healthy. I've noted that a sudden change in conditions, such as the recent almost two weeks of no rain and few clouds in a small area in Chiriqui resulted in a lot of new growth blasting - but they are adding new growths now like nothing happened.
Great job!
