Exclamation Masdevallias S.O.S.

Hello all,

I had recently purchased some masdevallias (Datura, Confetti, and Triangularis) and have been anxiously awaiting their arrival.

I’ve just opened the box to a bittersweet reality. The confetti is blooming and healthy and the datura looks nice but the triangularis is in dire condition. I’ve posted pictures of all three with two pictures of the triangularis.

As you can see, the leaves are very unhealthy and many fell off upon unwrapping the plant. They are yellowed at the base with significant tissue collapse on some leaf portions of the triangularis.

I need guidance with this one as I don’t have much experience with masdevallias.

I have no suggestions (I'm new to Masdies) but sorry to see one in such sad state! :-(

The confetti looks revivable with an overnight soak. Do the same with the datura.

With the triangularis, I would send pictures to the seller and ask for a replacement. I think these must have been in transit for over a week, correct? Explain to them that the shipping time from Florida to NY stretched over a weekend. If they could hold shipment from Florida when temperatures are high and ship early in the week so the plant doesn't spend so much time in the mail, the outcome will be better.

Up close the datura and confetti don’t even seem to need a soak so I may just pot them in mesh pots of fresh moss. The triangularis on the other hand is a sad sight. I’m going to try my best to save it though I’m not optimistic. It was very cheap so I’m not out too much.

I would contact seller regardless. And all those yellow stems... it's almost assuredly DOA.
