I have a very irrational Podangis envy right now while looking at all your photos! Irrational because I already have a very nice one. I haven't pulled the trigger on plant #2 yet, I have to buy from a different country and am trying to justify nearly 20€ shipping for a 14€ plant...

Everyone's....Podangises?...Podangae?....ahem, Podangis orchids are wonderful. They all look so healthy. And so cute!!
As I was struggling for the plural form of Podangis, I came across some information that I suppose our club should know.
Etymology of Podangis: From latinized Greek "podos" foot; "angos" vessel. From the foot-like lip spur.
Etymology of Dactyloceras: From latinized Greek, with a finger-like (bent) horn (spur).
(Source: Mayr & Schmucker 1998)
Foot-like lip spur, finger-like horn spur? What about the translucent, crystalline flowers? Okay. I declare the plural to be Podangae.

I very unscientifically call mine a Poddy, so that would make the plural Poddies!

C'mon Camille, you know the solution.
You buy more than the 1 plant to get the shipping cost per plant down to something reasonable.

Wow, the title certainly isn't false advertising. Now I want one! If only I could get one here... if only...

The trouble was that 2 reputable growers that have it don't have anything else I really want. So taking your suggestion, I went to a different vendor's site, with even more expensive shipping, but now have 5 plants in my basket... I've been trying to justify shopping there for years, it's an excellent vendor but the shipping costs from Italy put me off.

I am delaying my entry to the club at this point, Jonathan at Marlow was nice enough to give me my substitute request (Rhynchostylis gigantea ‘Oranges’) and will let me know when they get more Podangis in. I'll be pampering my Cyrtorchis chailuana in the meantime. 😁

My Podangis
It has arrived a day early. Here is my Podangis. As you can see, it is a very big Podangis which is why I selected it. It is in fact 3 branching Podangis in 1 basket. A Podangis cornucopia!

Oh my!!! I have podangis envy of your podangis! Mine is cute. Yours is magnificent. I can see its scale in comparison to your light switch.
