Yes, and it's been weird stuff. Three 5# bags of koi food. A garden soil pH meter. A horse blanket that went walkabout for a month and a half.

No issues with replacement. As a matter of fact, the koi food was replaced twice, and they told me just keep it. Gonna have some fat koi this summer. Ours have all been since the ol' Covid stuff started. I think a lot of places that deliver packages just got slammed.

Oh! And some orchids Carol sent me that lived in some little Elk Ridge IL postal hub for quite some time. All survived.

Unpacking my Gold Country shipment. Plants in great shape, lots of new roots.(Several other Angraecoids in addition to Podangis) A note if you got Podangis dactyloceras... I have some outstanding new roots across the surface of the pot, but there were quite a few dead ones in rather compacted sphagnum within the pot. These do seem to really want air. Suggest mounting or semi-hydro, or large bark in shallow pot rather than sphag (which was no doubt great for starting seedlings, but my new plant is well beyond the seedling stage so ready for the next step) With the new root growth, the perfect time for a transition. I mounted mine - and took the cue from Marlow, pointing the fan downward. Will provide updates as it grows.

Already got it mounted. Sorry... I also took a look at the one that I had for several years, in a basket with bark. The roots deep in the basket (4 inch) didn't look good, the ones toward the outside were fine. So that, plus the info in the Baker culture sheet, convinces me that these really need their roots to run fairly free. Also in the Baker sheet, these can go cooler than I was giving them credit for. So if not mounted, semi-hydro (with its tendency to cool roots by evaporation) should be excellent.

Okay, confession time. For some reason, while researching this Pondangis with its gorgeous roots, figuring out what it needed, I missed something. Holy Cow this thing is TINY!

I've never grown anything this small. Or even close. Seriously. I tend to end up with sprawling monster plants. I'm scared of even touching this teeny little thing. And was planning on growing it in semi hydro. What do I do, try to drill a hole in a shot glass?

Meanwhile, it sets on my kitchen counter on its wine bottle, and I stare at it... ask if it's doing okay... try to decide whether to toy with it. The plant marker is as big as the plant, for PeteSake!

What have I gotten myself involved in? I went from Podangis Envy to Podangis Paranoia in six seconds flat.

Ahem... pardon me while I go breathe deeply into a brown paper sack.

That would probably dry to a crisp here as I took it out of the package. If you walk outside eating a sandwich, the bread turns to toast before you finish.

Yeah, don't think that your area is great for mounted plants... Mine put up with occasional high heat/low humidity (last couple of days, highs in the 90s F and humidity between 8-12% all day) but most of the time not so bad. I was watering about 3 times a day. Starting to cool off a little. Hopeful for a good weekend.
