I do grow stuff on mounts WW (I have probably 50 "hangers" and I do all my Phals on cedar shingles) but NOT in NH where the humidity is low. The mounted orchids and all my supplies are down in my shadehouse in the Keys. Once I'm back there it gets mounted no question. The biggie is, can I keep it going OK here till I get down there with it in Oct.? (If COVID even allows that then!)

I think I'd suggest leaving it its pot until you can get it back to FL. Just let the sphag get dry (even crunchy) before you water again. Dry or almost-dry sphag has lots of air space. It's the "soggy" that causes problems.

Back at my grow area and have settled in all my summer acquisitions including my dactyloceras. I left it in that plastic slotted pot where it was growing in 100% sphagnum all summer under lights. It did fine and as you can tell, it has put out a couple of new leaves and I believe I have spikes in progress. I also see something coming that looks to me like a keiki.
I have carefully removed all of the sphagnum and have it mounted now on a piece of buttonwood. We'll see what happens.

Here's my update. Blooming again, lots of new roots, and finally a new baby fan.

Wow. You guys are doing great. Mine is just dragging along. Had a little die back when it was shipped and it has just limped along.

I experimented with my new one, outside. We had some cool nights (like 49 deg F/9 deg C) , it lost some leaves. So into the greenhouse it went, and is already putting out new growth. I have my answer... habitat info indicates it could grow cool, but the plant says otherwise.

Keysguys, I hadn't seen your post. Nice growth!
I guess it is time for a podangis roundup. Mine has spent the summer indoors in a terrarium at 70 degrees and 85% humidity. I finally added some lights a couple of months ago and it took off. It has lots of new root and a couple of new fans/leaves. No signs of any new flowers .
