There was a huge one like that listed on eBay a few days ago, looks like the auction has ended but I was tempted!

OK.......I'm going to brag so brace yourselves.
After not quite a full week under my brilliant horticultural thumb ()......if you were to go back to page 8 of this thread and give my picture a closer look I'm pretty sure you'll see 3 spikes. 2 on the right side and 1 at the base on left. I'll post a pic tomorrow but they are already much more developed.
I was shocked when I picked it up to look at it today, I was like ...."holy $#^!, there's 3 spikes on this thing!"

Happy to oblige........

Front and back pics one week after arrival. This plant is so happy!

3 spikes and each must have gained a good half inch since arrival.

Alan Koch of Gold Country Orchids spoke to the Desert Valley Orchid Society tonight.

HE MENTIONED PODANGIS DACTYLOCERAS AT SOME LENGTH.

He said it NEEDS light at the roots for photosynthesis. He said it NEEDS to dry quickly after watering. He said it NEEDS to have higher humidity than many orchids.

He suggested growing it in a transparent pot, using whole wine corks for medium. He showed a photo of an incredible root system on a P. dactyloceras growing in wine corks.

IT MADE ME VERY THIRSTY!!!!

If you're on Facebook, you can soon go to the Desert Valley Orchid Society page and look for the video recorded tonight. I would give our Facebook wrangler a few days to get it set up so you can see it.
