Thanks Roberta, I hadn't considered repotting because there is space for each individual growth to grow roots into the scoria but now that I think about the sum total of the roots that will be emerging I think I'll follow your advice The plant bloomed on it's last growths, it would be great If I could get buds on most or all of the growths.

Knowing a little about the hybrid, you have a St. Bernard puppy... When you repot, that scoria looks like an excellent medium. You don't have to remove any, just pop the whole thing into a bigger pot. Clay might be good, for the weight - it's going to be top-heavy.

Yes, that is one thing I love about Odoms, they pot cattleya in this beautiful silver scoria. The shipments are super heavy as a result but it makes repotting so much easier. I have black scoria ready to add (super cheap and abundant in my area) and will go out to get some clay bulb pots today. Might as well go 10". Thanks again for the guidance

It would be unfair to Odom's for me to not also mention that I received this Cattleya Skinneri 'Carpentaria' FCC/AOS with four growths in the same shipment.

Odom's moves up into my number 2 spot amongst orchid vendors (SVO, Odoms, Carmelas, Hauserman, Andy's).

Here are some of my plants with new growths starting. Two of them are seedlings of Miya's Fascination 'Odom's Wildfire' x Toshie Aokie 'Encore' that I got from Odom's a frw years ago. The hybrid is registered at something now, but I forget what. They're big enough now that I wouldn't be surprised if they bloomedf on these upcoming growths. Then there's my FDK After Dark, my Lc Dinard, and a couple Oncidium intergenerics, and my Chia Linn that I've had forever and seems big enough to bloom, but just won't. I'm hoping this growth wiill the the one haha. There's also my three Habenaria radiata that I decided to try to grow. They are growing more slowly than I expected, but at least they are growing. It's my first time with them.
