Water is 8.3#/gal.

I remember it as "a pint's a pound the world around...' A pint of water does weigh about 1 pound, there are 8 of them in a gallon, bingo. (one of the few bits of rationality in a measuring system that the rest of the world abandoned long ago for good reason)

Yes, 1L = 1kg is SO much simpler.

This is my only bumper sticker, but alas...

Lath house by J Solo, on Flickr

fixed and over did it

i added a second gasket to the INSIDE of the barrel ( outside doesn't do much, D'oh!), a very thin bead of silicon around the receiver piece, Teflon tape on all threaded connections AND a spray of flex seal around the exterior.

not a drip

now i just need some rain....

We just had rain here and I was able to collect enough water to water all my plants well! When there is no rain, I fill up jugs at an RO machine as we have a water softener.

I hope you get rain soon!

Now might not be the time to mention that at this time of the year, due to almost nightly fog here and a steel roof I collect water even when it doesn't rain. But I will anyway!
