Default Well, Potinara came with rotted roots😭

So I got a San Domiano Halona in on Wednesday.. The vendor said it was freshly potted but it was in regular pine bark and I prefer orchiata. So I pulled out this morning to go ahead and repot it. And oh boy I'm glad I did. Looks like a hot mess of roots. I think almost all of them are rotted. I cut some of the most egregious ones but was too scared to cut too much. Crazy part is the plant looks actually good. I sprinkled some root hormone on some of the base of the roots hopefully triggers a new growth..
I contacted the vendor a few hours ago. We'll see.

Anyways, a cautionary tale....

Good luck. I recently got a Catt walkeriana that looked good until I checked the roots. I had to remove almost all of them. Good news is that I’ve been keeping it in a net pot, very little media, warm, with higher humidity plus treating it with seaweed and it’s already shooting out some new root growth. They’re small nubs, but it’s a good start and with time, I’m sure it will recover. I did the same with a Catt schilleriana, which was much worse off and it’s doing fine today. Hopefully, though, the seller will make this right for you.
