As of now MistKing is listed as a vendor at this show. The founder of MistKing is Marty, who owns this forum. He is also sponsor of chameleonforums.com . I don't see any upcoming events listed on the MistKing Web site, nor on their Facebook page.

Will any OB members in the LA area be going to this show?

Marty, owner of Orchid Board, owns Mist King. He usually goes to the bigger reptile shows. It might be useful for an OB members to chat with him and tell him how much OB means to us.

If any go, mention the possibility of getting the Tapatalk plug in up to date so people can read OB on their phones more easily.

Hi Lucille, yes, Marty owns Orchid Board. But he hasn't been active for a long time, and he often doesn't respond to the administrators. You can read some threads in the forum About This Forum regarding our attempts to contact him when there were problems with things functioning.

The OB software works OK now on desktops and in a browser window on a phone.

There is a phone app called Tapatalk that makes reading forums on phones much simpler than reading in a browser window. The OB Tapatalk software is old and doesn't work. Many people do not want to read things like this on a desktop, nor through a browser on their phone, and a phone app is very important to them. I don't know how much it would cost, but I suspect OB members would be willing to chip in to cover the cost of upgrading the Tapatalk plugin.

We have been trying to figure out how to contact Marty to ask about updating this plugin. Nobody has been able to contact Marty via E-mail, which is why I suggested somebody try to see him in person at a reptile event, where his business usually has an enormous booth.

As it happens, I sent Marty a personal message on Facebook back when we were having trouble with the site some months ago. I received a response months later, asking what the problem was. Since it had since been solved, I just thanked him and dropped the conversation. I wonder if he would respond to another Facebook message about Tapatalk?

This is not a project I am interested in, so I hesitate to spearhead it. And the lag time between my original message and his response was several months. But it is another path if no one can attend the Reptile Show.

ETA: I just went back to check dates and my original message was Jan. 2017, and his response Dec. 16, 2017. It made me wonder if he had been ill or otherwise out-of-action this year.
