Problems On The Site

Just when I think it has gotten worse since this thread was created, the new page pops up. Since I've thought that multiple times, I think it was gotten worse.

Never had login issues...clicked the remember me and always worked fine.
Now, loading anything, be it pages, photos, anything, seems to be getting worse.

It has been terrible all day today. Times out, pages do not load.

I tried using a private window with Opera browser and it doesn't help with page load times.

The pages load quickly/reliably for me - I guess because I'm online when everyone else is asleep or having their breakfast?

I logged on Saturday but then I couldn't stick around as long as I had planned.
There were some issues navigating around but they were pretty tolerable, since I'm getting used to it.

So I logged off after a short time and did the running around I had to.

I tried to login yesterday (Sunday)...and, low 'n behold, I'm still logged in from Saturday.
Hey, bonus!!!


Then I tried to navigate around the site


I had things I could do so I figure I'll log out and come back later.

For 45 minutes I could not log out.
For that 45 minutes I could not navigate around the site.
It would let me TRY to log out several times, but it just would not finish.

Finally...it worked.
I closed the window and shut down my computer.


Came here this morning.....and I'm STILL log in
I've never had such an issue logging out of a site...anywhere...any time in the history of the internet. And I was in the military in the early 80's, where and when what we call the internet got it's beginning, and I used it dozens of times daily..back then.

So on the part of not being able to log off of here...it's the worst I've ever experienced in 35 years.

I'm confused why nobody is responding to the issue. Is there a site owner or does someone in particular have technical responsibility/governance over the site?

The post wasn't inappropriate.
It was a reply to derv88's post.

I checked it in 'preview' then posted it.
I re-read and rechecked my spelling (something I used to be good at).
Then went shopping.

Logged back on and the post isn't there anymore.
Second one in as many weeks. Well, this post and a new thread.

Weirdness...

A few folks have posted they have tried and not gotten any replies from anyone.

I have contacted both Marty, the man who created and manages this site about a month ago and got no response. I also contacted a site administrator when this thread first started and never heard back. Not sure where else to go on this. I don't have near the problems some of you describe so its hard to figure out the reasons why some people have them. I do find very slow loading or at times timing out to be an issue. Marty was upgrading to a new server or something a year or two ago I thought. But I don't remember if it actually happened.

Marty did upgrade the servers a few years ago, and it was better for a while... but the site has got busier and it has got worse again.

I'm the main site administrator just now and I have been paying attention to this thread. However administrator access just allows me to edit people's accounts and some other things, but doesn't give any access to the lower levels to see what load is like at different times of day, and what is going on with the servers. Marty is the only person who has access to the servers below the forum.

I reported to Marty about the performance problems back when this thread started, but currently there is not an immediate solution.
