Default WARNING! Intrusion attempt blocked by anti-virus

In the past several minutes, I have gotten a number of notifications from my anti-virus software of a blocked intrusion attempt while I am on OB - all appear to be from the same source

I've emailed Marty about this.

Is there anything that the users need to do or can do to help?

Thanks Sonya. If it's anything like last time that happened it will be Google that's been hacked. But it's good if Marty can check.

Everyone should just ensure your virus protection is up to date. Nothing else you can do except watch for suspicious behavior on you PC.

I'm on tapptalk so not seeing anything just now. Don't want to try as I trust the work AV less than the home one

I have this problem too, but not on OB itself. I use Google to search OB for threads and in the past there was sometimes the problem of the OB page getting redirected to something else. Except now that 'something else' sets off my antivirus! I think once there was an issue of one of the google ads on OB being virused

Didn't get the notification today - this is the first click I've done today on OB ...

Yeah - I thought it was possible an ad could be causing it

I think that happens because of the cookie sent to your PC from here for identification purpose....the anti-virus thinks its an intrusion but then gets the message that it is a place you regularly frequent and allows the cookie after recognizing that it is harmless

It was a mass attack done on certain online forum companies. They quickly got it under control but it could take a few days for the spyware software to catch up.

Thanks for the info. Today I was only on the board on my computer just that little bit to post that reply earlier, and didn't get the notification - last night, everytime I clicked on a thread, I got it. So hopefully the issue was resolved.

At least I know my anti-virus software is working
