Perhaps the Cattleya Alliance gets targetted because everyone on the internet likes Cats, and therefore the spam bots go "ooooh, cats, yes, I will post here".

Yeah, as Tindomul said, only admins can delete articles. I will contact Marty and Oscarman about it.

Since you mentioned this, I have been noticing that the Catt alliance forum does seem to be the most frequent 'target' - have no idea why ...

People who benefit from OrchidBoard can help by being diligent about flagging spam. It's a small way we can all give back or pay it forward a little.

I agree. I've noticed that some members just ignore the spam posts and post their own posts after them. It makes it more difficult to find all the spam posts if people do this. This is one of the reasons why I usually go through every single thread, marked with having new posts, in the Cattleya Alliance, even though I don't even like Catts! Unfortunately I've been too tired to do it lately.

You guys are probably used to "attacks" like the one we just had, but I almost dropped my jaw. Is there anything we could do to stop these...pests?
My guess is that the spammer only knows the name cattleya when alluding to orchids.

Mutant, I believe some people are posting after the spam because they are using Tapatalk on their phones. There does not appear to be a feature to report spam on here.

that could be - anyway - thanks to everyone that helps - not everyone is aware that they can report or give infractions - that's fine

tapatalk helps me see spam I wouldn't have otherwise, since it shows me the actual most recent posts, but then I get on the computer to do the actual banning and deleting
