We have a wonderful community here...our membership is such a fantastic group, taking care of this board and helping us as mods to keep it the way it should be

Click on that REPORT or INFRACTION button and we're all notified...it's just a question of which mod is on their computer at any particular time

We would definiely need Marty's input on this, but I think the Board could use several new mods, in different age groups and time zones, that way we can almost gaurantee that there will be a mod on to immediatly remove spam. Also going along the thoughts that the gaming thread is getting targeted, I think that ANY spam left on here will get targeted, so it makes sense to try to get it removed ASAP!

I would suggest disabling any links within the first 10 posts after joining the forum. Without links, spamming the forum would be useless - thus abandoned.

It's an accident. We're working on fixing it, but unfortunately I can't reinstate the account so need someone else to do it. We'll get her reinstated as soon as we can

Yeah, I'm in contact with Camille outside Orchid Board and she sent me a message about an hour ago to say she couldn't get in.

I've taken a look and established that her account is intact but the 'lift ban' is not available for me so I've sent some messages to some of those that should be able to sort it.

I would also suggest using the list of offensive words. Vbulletin must have such a list. Any post containing at least one of the words in this list would not be accepted by the system.

Hunt for the anchor text that spammers use and add these words/phrases to the list of offensive words. The links in spam posts are only valuable to the spammers as long as they contain certain words/phrases, such as "w*w g*ld".
