First thing Michael makes a very good point. If you are posting photos direct to the forum (using the attachment options) then you need 5 posts. I keep forgetting that, it's to try and stop spammers from posting images, which we had a problem with before the restriction was put in. Unfortunately it doesn't give very good error messages when you try, just doesn't work.
Some people have reported that it might be more than 5, but have found it works at post 6 or 7 or so. If you can try making a couple more posts and then give it a go that might be the answer.

Unfortunately, I'm not familiar with Apple Mac at all, I probably get just as lost when trying to use one as you do working out this forum. Unfortunately that makes it harder for me to help you but I'll try and give what advice I can.
First off are you reading through an an internet browser (where you can read all sorts of other websites) or are you using an app like Tapatalk? I think it's most likely a browser as Tapatalk is more for Tables and phones (such as iPad and iPhone) but the instructions for what you need to do are completely different if you are using that so I need to know.

I don't have access to post them on your behalf unfortunately and I'm not sure photos can be sent through the Private Messages. If we need to go down that route I can give you an email address to send them to me, but hopefully we can sort it another way.

I'm not American
I'm in the UK
The adverts are how we keep the forum free. The cost of running the servers etc. It's possible to donate to the forum and not see most of the adverts. They can be distracting, though I find them better than on many websites. Yes you do get used to ignoring them over time I guess.

As you say there are lots of ways of doing things so its hard to know what you want to do, but once you have 5 posts I would suggest the method I talk about in this link.

(Just the post this link goes to, don't worry about the ones which follow it which relate to other methods). You only need to go down as far as the dotted line I've just added to that post. The rest is optional so don't let it confuse you with unnecessary steps.
The screen shots in the link were taken with a PC, which as I said above is the only way I know how to do it. It should be similar on the Mac, but might not be identical. Unfortunately if you are struggling with Mac related differences I might not be able to help
