Duly noted, thanks. I think I'm feeling motivated to dust off my SLRs (I have the Canon 5D and 7D, older versions, if they even make those models anymore) and lord knows how many lenses, tripods, etc,) and start becoming reacquainted with taking real photos again. Old software, old cameras. Makes sense. I never had problems with those.

Off-topic -- nodosa is sending out its magic as we speak, and the room isn't dark, just somewhat dimly lit. It just knows it's nighttime. *Long-lasting flowers, aren't they? Yay.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding. You need to use desktop software to rotate any direction, save, rotate properly and then save the image. That seems to correct the rotation data.

Oh. So let me say this back to you. I take the original image (which is correctly oriented), rotate it any direction and save it as a new image. Then I take that new image, correct the rotation and re-save it.
Is that right? Thanks!

Why a one-day delete? People view posts over days, weeks, or even months. Or longer - one of the beauties of the Board is that posts are searchable from the beginning. Not all posts have "archival" value but many do. It is disappointing to use the Search function to find a post with information and pictures that one is interested in, only to discover that the images are missing. (A downside of using external services... images that are stored on the Board stay here, external sources sometimes yes and sometimes no)

Oh, I didn’t understand that the photo would disappear once posted, if it was deleted from PostImage. Now the response from RBarata makes sense. Duh. Learning a lot.

Yes... if they are posted from someplace else (like Postimages or Imagur) all that is saved on the Board is the link. So if they no longer exist on the source, they're no longer visible on the Board. If there's a connectivity issue, pix can disappear for a time, to return when the "storage site" is back up. So the approach lets one post higher-resolution photos, and doesn't have the other quirks, but not as reliable as local storage either.

For what it's worth, I rediscovered how to add large photos into a post, which uploading the photos to OB. No rotation problems either.
Add the photo to your forum gallery, click on it, then select the link for 'medium image' and paste it into your post.
The gallery is a bit clunky and all my photos from years ago have disappeared. I also don't know if there is a limit to the number of photos regular members can upload that way. As an admin, I have unlimited space.
This is the result, note that the photo is not turned on its side!

I tried the Gallery along the way. It wouldn't let me upload photos; it would circle me back to log-or something clearly messed up. I was already logged in, and I know I had more than five posts.
However, I tried gallery again after reading your post. It's working now for whatever reason. Thanks.
