Hi got_ants.
Some spammers can post a lot really fast.
The best thing to is to either 'report post' or 'give infraction'. It's only necessary to do either option once for each user name that is spaming.
The 'report post' is a warning triangle in the top green bar of every post. The 'give infraction' is a red and yellow card icon just next to that.
Both options send a message to the moderators to let us know. That way even if we don't have time to read everything on the forum we are allerted to the spam and remove it. Theoretically it even sends emails to us so we can come and get it even if not on OB. I say theoretically because ocasionally those emails don't get to me, but most of the time they do.
The difference between a 'report post' and a 'give infraction' is that the infraction will actually give a temporary ban to the user without a moderator being present. We advise that this option should only ever be used on spammers, rather than just over arguments or other disagreements ('report post' can be used to allert moderators to that if need be) but it is a great option for spammers and I favour it being used over the 'report post' option because it stops the spammer posting any more while waiting for a moderator.
I think someone else reported the spam you saw, but I don't have time to read much today so can't check every post to see if it's still there. If you spot it still there then just report it or give an infraction and a moderator will come along and remove it.

We depend on our membership to report spam...it's the only way we can keep the board clean.

Sir, yes Sir! Reporting (or giving infraction) for duty!
Thanks for the advice, and next time I see these, I now know what to do.

Yes, thanks for this - I've noticed some on threads I'm on but they seemed to be cleared quite quickly. Now, like Jonada, Ants and everyone, I know what to do
