The mistake with the link is that I don't think you have the image part selected when you click the button.
To make the code show I've replaced some [ or ] with { or } again.
In your second one you have the following...
{IMG]http://lh6.ggpht.com/_-75DijTpcJ4/TQlhpiJCLeI/AAAAAAAAABg/85NaAlnq49g/s288/10-24-10%20%281%20of%206%29.jpg[/IMG}{URL="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_-75DijTpcJ4/TQlhpiJCLeI/AAAAAAAAABg/85NaAlnq49g/s400/10-24-10%20%281%20of%206%29.jpg"]http://lh6.ggpht.com/_-75DijTpcJ4/TQlhpiJCLeI/AAAAAAAAABg/85NaAlnq49g/s400/10-24-10%20%281%20of%206%29.jpg[/URL}
The URL section in italics should be arround the image section and the bit I've put in tiny font shouldn't be there and has been added by the automatic parsing of the URL, which is something OB does unless you tell it not to.
What you need to do, is before you press the button for the URL make sure the section I've put in bold is selected. OB then knows that you want that section to be given the link, rather than it thinking you want the link to follow afterwards.
You should end up with (again I've used bold for the Image bit, and italic for the URL bit).
{URL="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_-75DijTpcJ4/TQlhpiJCLeI/AAAAAAAAABg/85NaAlnq49g/s400/10-24-10%20%281%20of%206%29.jpg"]{IMG]http://lh6.ggpht.com/_-75DijTpcJ4/TQlhpiJCLeI/AAAAAAAAABg/85NaAlnq49g/s288/10-24-10%20%281%20of%206%29.jpg[/IMG][/URL]
note that the URL section ends up mostly before the image section, but with a closing tag after it.
The first one you did had got it right, although I would also have altered the size bit in the URL section to s800 to get a bigger image when people click on the link.

Just for clarification, you don't need to do anything to stop the automatic parsing. If you get the rest right OB will recognise it doesn't need to do that, it only does it when it doesn't have something to show for the link, and when you get it right it knows it will show the image.

Hope my explanation is not even more confusing.
Put simply, make sure the image section, including the [img] tags needs to be selected when you press the link button.

There is simply an 'h' missing. I think you must have accidentily deleted it.
You have {URL="ttp:// at the very beggining and it should be {URL="http://
again replace the { with [

You pretty much got it right that last time, just an accidental character deletion.
It's not the easiest is it. I think once you get the hang of it you may find it easy enough. You will just have to decide it it's too complicated, or if it will work for you.
