Interesting... I set up a bookmark, with the address https://orchidboard.com and it takes me there when I use that bookmark link. If following the link in the email notice, sometimes it comes up as http:// and sometimes as https:// . When I'm having issues (it's intermittent), I copy the link in the email, paste it into the address bar, and add the "s" before hitting "enter". The private message and Gallery area seem to be hard coded as http:// which is annoying. The answer is likely in the ancient code, which none of has access to. Out of curiosity, what browsers are you dealing with? I find that Chrome works most of the time, I'm playing around with DuckDuckGo, not glitch free but different ones. I also have Kaspersky antivirus that tries to block some stuff. So many moving parts, and they change. I'm glad I'm not working in IT any more... <sigh>

I normally use Mozilla Firefox. I am on a desktop computer with Windows 10. I just tried going to the https:// address using Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. All three of those browsers take me to the OB with the address given as www.orchidboard.com/community. To the left of that address, all three of them have the little padlock icon with a line drawn through it, and hovering my mouse over that icon brings up the message "Connection is Not Secure."

I guess I will keep doing what I've been doing for the last many years on the OB, and hope for the best. I'm a little puzzled, though. It sounds like the security issues originate with the site itself, so I don't understand how you can type in the same address but with the https:// prefix and get to a secure site? Isn't there just one OB site?

Even when inputting the "s" it doesn't make the site secure. It sometimes, depending on the browser one is using, just make the site more functional. The OB site is not secure. Hasn't been for years. That's why Estación says don't use the same password anywhere other than OB. Also why one shouldn't use their email address as the UserID.

Why isn't the site secure? I don't know enough about I.T. stuff. The basic I understand is that it has a non-updated Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Certificate. Why the owner of the board doesn't update it, I have no answer.

Thanks, Roberta and WW for your explanations. I think I'm overdue to change my password for this site anyway, so I'll try doing that now, not because I'm having any trouble but just because I should.
