On posting photos
Hi, I've been on here long enough that I should know how to do this but...
You know when you see a post with several photos in it and you click on the first photo and the pic opens up right in the thread in a black-like box and then you can click next at the bottom of the photo???? I can get my posts to do that if I go to manage links in the reply and use my photos in my computer.
But...I can't figure out how to do that using photos in my gallery on OB. I can only get the attached thumbnails to take you to my gallery (seperate window) with the photo opened.
Is it possible to get my gallery photos to open the way my computer photos do??
Thanks for your time.

Hi Karen,
I have the same problem. I think you have to just re-upload the image you want to show directly to the thread. Seems like double the work but I don't know another way. Took me quite awhile to figure out how to get any image into the post.

I guess I'm being more mentally compromised today than usual 'cause I don't understand the situation and that is probably because I use Photobucket for posting pics on the board. It is easy to do, no clicking on an image to see it, the pics are large and it saves space on the server. Can somebody help me get back home.... I seem to be wandering and lost.....

Hi Doc
Using outside photo sources is a great way to store photos...but when the photo is removed from that source it leaves a blank space here in the forums.

Yes, I know, Susie Q. There is so much "free" storage on most of these outside areas that I rarely delete pictures and none of the chids. But you are absolutely correct, it does leave that ghostly blank spot and people wondering what's wrong with my computer!!!!! I like using this outside storage method because it gives me resources of my pictures when I want to use something very old to add to a posting and it saves space on our server so maybe things will run better.... just silly old me....

The way I have done it is to go to the gallery where you picture is. At the bottom of the picture (see attached picture) you will find the url address. Imbeded within the URL is the IMG address. Anyway, just cut and paste the whole thing to your post, and then erase everything outside the [img] [/img] brackets. So your pasted address should look like this
[img]http://www.orchidboard.com/comminty
/gallery/dat/etc............................[/img]
And viola, you get your pic on your post. Hope this helps.
Alternatively, you click on the little icon just right of the picture link and it will automatically separate the url addy from the img addy, you should get better results. However for some unknown reason to me, you will not always be given this option. See second picture.

Wow, All you guys (guys includes gals, too) are Ubergreat. I'm gonna try several things in this thread to see if I can get to what I want.
This is the way Tindomul said to do it but it's coming out really small and it doesn't do anything when you click on it

OK...another try
This try went to the gallery when you click on it.
Suzie - I was trying to avoid getting images from outside sources as well as my computer (in case it crashes) thats why I want to figure out how to do this and I didn't want the thumbnail image to go to my gallery. Just open in the post in the same window.
Guess that can't be done. Have done everything available in the threads you sent the link to
Any other suggestions??? And Doc are you home yet???
