Karen, I used to have a Honda VFR 700... crotch rocket and a Honda V-65 Sabre but with time and age of both the bikes and myself and being retired and not really riding much anymore I sold them.... I must admit there are times when I want to get back out and ride.... but then I'd like a dog, too!

Rosie,

You are a dear. Thanks for clearing up so much confusion. I think that a lot of people don't understand how that works (especially me). Since I don't have a photo storing site I will just upload from my computer. I feel bad when I see those broken links but now that I know why, and how to hopefully limit them, I will not worry about them.

Thanks again to Marty and all the mods and people who go to such lengths and take the time needed to answer others questions.

I'm so blessed to have found this board. It has made all the difference in my orchid growing experience. I LOVE OB.

BikerDoc, It's hard when we get old(er) and can't do all the things we used to. When retired you'd think we have more time to do all those things we want but we move so much slower and have less energy that the time seems to be even less.

[QUOTE=RosieC;307440]First, just a note to hopefully clear up some confusion.

When you send a photo to OB, either as an attachement, to your gallery, or to a seperate photo sharing site, then a copy will be made in the place you send it to. When you create an attachement a copy will be stored with the thread on the OB servers. When you load to your gallery a copy will be made in the gallery section of the OB servers. When you load to a photo sharing site a copy will be made on the servers owned by that photo sharing sites.

Hi Rosie,
Does this mean that a photo you upload directly to a thread, as opposed to your gallery on OB, "counts" as one of the total number of images you can have? It seems it would have to occupy space somewhere, on some server.
I'm not sure I'll ever understand the internet. This new thing called "cloud" computing has me completely confused. I should just stick to photography (and medicine).

To be honest I'm not completely certain. It DOES take space on the OB server... but I'm not sure if that space is counted in your gallery allocation, or maybe it has it's own allocation. I will try and check for you.

Still not sure about the allocation thing. So far the opinions of those I've asked is that we think it is either a seperate allocation or is not counted at all. We don't think it's part of the gallery allocation.

When I first joined I posted photos of my orchids. For the life of me I cannot figure out how I did it, nor can I find a box anywhere that says anything about how to post photos. I'm sure it's obvious but I am quite unable to find it. Would you tell me where I click to get to posting a photo, please?
