Orchid Board Slow
The OB is taking a relatively long time to load these days, whether it be logging on or especially loading long threads or posting.

I haven't noticed it to be any slower than usual, more often than not quite fast. (loads a lot better than many other sites) Likely ISP routing rather than the site itself.

I have been having an issue lately with having to log in whenever I return to an already open page and going to the main menu. This happens when I've been away for several hours. This started about a week ago.

Mine has been good (on my computer). It does log me out after a little while so I have to login frequently.
I find that if a site is slow there are a few possible reasons for it....
1) internet/wireless is slow (if all sites load slowly--resetting the wireless or removing unneeded devices will usually fix this)
2) website does not work with that specific browser
3) something running in the background that slows the device
4) malware
5) time to clear cookies
6) Need to restart computer/device
There are other reasons but the first things to try are clearing cookies and restarting the device. Good luck!

It is also worth trying different browsers if that's an option. (There are more choices in the Microsoft ecosystem than the Apple ecosystem) But we do suffer from the fact that the Board software is very old and isn't going to be updated - so every browser update is a new "adventure".

Adding to Leafmite's list, one can also reboot one's router and/or modem. This can fix some ISP routing issues.

The board's software is never going to be updated? Is Marty no longer the administrator (not sure if this is the correct title)?

Marty owns this board and I believe it runs on a single computer he owns. He has a moderate income stream from the ads, but his primary focus is Mist King, so I would not expect to see any major upgrades, if at all.
I had considered setting up a general orchid forum of my own, but I'm not sure I want to dedicate the time to moderating it.
