Odd Board Issue - Private Messages
I thought this was only an issue on the iPad, but it happened on my PC as well, both using Chrome: - Someone sends you a PM.
- You come here and log in.
- A dialog box tells you have a PM, so you click to go to it.
At that point I cannot reply to the message. If I exit the browser and come back in, there is no pop-up dialog box, and if you go into that PM, all is well.

Any chance that this has to do with the https:// certificate issue? I find that if I link to the site with the https:// address, which gets me automatic login, Google complains about an expired certificate, and I have to wade through several "yes I really want to go there" messages. If I use the http:// version, I don't get the complaints from Google but I have to log in each time.

Regardless of which way I sign in, I get the same Not Secure message, (yes, likely due to the certificate) and it doesn't matter which way I go... same issue with a PM.
Probably just a "limping along" thing with the software.
PM Sent to ya Ray... if I remembered how to do it properly.

I opened WW's PM with the Microsoft browser, and was able to reply with no issue, so it's apparently a Chrome glitch.

This one is not only a Chrome issue, my Kaspersky anti-virus complains too. It was Kaspersky tech support that got me to the point of not trying to use https:// in the address. As WaterWitchin noted, struggling aged software is the root cause. Along with other software trying to protect us from ourselves and giving us no option to say "Yes, this site is OK, quit bugging me..."

I am not attempting to push https:
Chrome added the "not secure" thing in July (I think), just so you'll know. With all of the hacking and phishing, all website should be secure, though.

My Norton 360 antivirus and firewall don't like OrchidBoard either. I had to get very strict with it and show it who the boss was.

The forum used to have a valid https certificate (about 6-8 months ago maybe?), though by default the forum opens as http. You'd have to manually switch to https.
I can bring it up with the site owner, in this day and age there's no reason for a website to be wide open since it does contain passwords and email addresses.
