I can bring it up with the site owner, in this day and age there's no reason for a website to be wide open since it does contain passwords and email addresses.

Those certificates do need to be renewed... Google was accepting 2 years, they're talking about 1 year now. I have been using http:// for the site, which requires me to long on every time, but it's better than clicking through 3 "do you want to this?" screens for Chrome and another couple for Kaspersky AV if I use the https:// version of the address.
